Corruption has once been defined as “saying one thing and do something else”. That definition applies to individuals as well as organizations. It applies with equal force to the political leadership of any country. In Nigeria today, like it or not, the political leadership belongs to the People’ Party, PDP whose first elected president Olusegun Obasanjo in his first interview, granted to the CNN promised to fight corruption to a stand still. He called corruption a cankerworm which has been responsible for the nation’s lack of progress for thirty nine years since independence. He went on to promise that there would be no sacred cows in the fight against corruption.
